Duration: Current to 11:00 PM. The (NWS) National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for portions of the District above 6000 ft which includes the threat for flash flooding in the following counties: Boulder, Jefferson, Douglas
Optimal Period: Flooding is most likely to occur from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Prime time for flooding: 200 PM to 800 PM.

Forecast rainfall: Moderate storms will have the potential to produce rainfall rates of 0.30”-0.80” in 15-30 minutes. Strong thunderstorms will have the potential to produce rainfall rates of 0.80”-1.60” in 15-30 minutes.
A slow-moving thunderstorm or large thunderstorm complex may produce up to 2.50” of rain in 45-60 minutes.

The most likely areas to be impacted by flooding are:
X Mountain streams & floodplains; road crossings; canyon roads & highways; recreational trails; adjacent open space areas/campgrounds/parks; fishing access points & stream reaches; buildings near streams; utilities
X Mountain locations subject to mud/rock/debris slide

Additional information: Excessive runoff and flooding of small streams and low-lying areas may occur. Strong thunderstorms may also contain large hail, gusty winds, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. The Quarry Fire Burn scar will be particularly susceptible to flooding.
A Flood Watch means that flooding is possible within the watch area.
