WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ALL OF
THE NORTHEAST PLAINS OF COLORADO...NOW INCLUDING FIRE WEATHER
ZONES 238, 242 THROUGH 244, 248, AND 250 AND 251...
The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
until 7 PM MDT this evening.
* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zones 238, 242, 243, 244, 248,
250 and 251.
* Timing...Late morning through early this evening.
* Winds...West 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* Relative Humidity...As low as 14 percent.
* Impacts...Any fire that develops will have the potential to
spread rapidly. Outdoor burning should be avoided, as well as
any activity that may produce a spark and start a fast moving
wildfire.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
