URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
335 PM MDT Tue Oct 20 2020
...Red Flag Warning for Middle Park, South Park and the northern
foothills due to low relative humidity and strong gusts...
.Low relative humidity and strong wind gusts will lead to
critical fire weather conditions in Middle Park, South Park and
the northern foothills, beginning Wednesday at noon. Strong wind
gusts up to 40 mph will be coincident with minimum humidities as
low as 12 percent. The warning will expire for Middle Park and
South Park at 7 PM MDT Wednesday due to a break in the wind gusts
from the airmass decoupling, but will remain in effect in the
northern foothills until 8AM Thursday due to poor humidity
recovery overnight and a mountain wave set up to increase winds
overnight in this area, as well as ongoing fire activity.
Overnight maximum humidity in much of the zone will likely in the
20 to 30 percent range while winds increase with gusts 30 mph to
as much as 50 mph. Highest wind gusts found mainly above 9000
feet.
