At 254 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles east of Estes Park, or 23 miles southwest of Fort Collins,
moving east at 20 mph.
Locally heavy rainfall, up to one half inch in less than 30 minutes,
frequent cloud to ground lightning, small hail and winds in excess
of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include...
Estes Park, Masonville, Glen Haven, Pinewood Springs, Carter Lake,
Cedar Cove, Drake and Allenspark.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

storm.

Masonville, Glen Haven, Cedar Cove and Drake.

* At 1032 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. The heavy rain was concentrated from Lafayette to
Broomfield. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Thornton, eastern Westminster, Broomfield, Northglenn, Lafayette,
Louisville, Erie and Federal Heights.
A quick one half to 1.5 inches inches of rain is expected over the
area. This additional rain will result in considerable
street flooding, and small streams will run swift and high.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

northeast side of the Fourmile Burn Scar.

Heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of small creeks, gulches,
roads and roadside culverts in the Fourmile burn area. This includes

flows can also be expected across roads in the burn area.
