At 246 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking showers and thunderstorms
along a line extending from near Pearl to 6 miles north of Gould to
5 miles southeast of Williams Fork Reservoir, or along a line
extending from 62 miles northeast of Craig to 50 miles west of Fort
Collins to 65 miles west of Denver. Movement was east at 40 mph.
Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with these showers and
storms.
Locations impacted include...
Estes Park, Granby, Trail Ridge, Nederland, Kremmling, Fraser, Bear
Lake, Winter Park, Hot Sulphur Springs, Walden, Grand Lake,
Jamestown, Ward, Lake John, Crisman, Red Feather Lakes, Brownlee,
Rustic, Cameron Pass and Tabernash.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare for sudden gusty winds. Secure loose objects and move to a
safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
If on or near a lake, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught

At 743 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking showers and a couple
thunderstorms along a line extending from 4 miles west of Williams
Fork Reservoir to 3 miles southeast of Leadville, or along a line
extending from 74 miles southwest of Fort Collins to 57 miles
northeast of Gunnison. Movement was east at 40 mph.
Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible along and ahead of these
showers and storms.
Locations impacted include...
Jefferson, Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Frisco, Granby, Idaho Springs,
Kremmling, Fraser, Georgetown, Winter Park, Dillon, Blue River,
Fairplay, Central City, Hot Sulphur Springs, Empire, Alma, Silver
Plume, Ward and Black Hawk.

...CRITICAL FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS TODAY...
.A hot ridge of high pressure to our south combined with an
increase in westerly flow aloft will bring critical fire danger
to much of the northern Colorado mountains and high valleys today.
Gusty winds and very low humidities are expected in the late
morning through the afternoon hours, before winds gradually
decrease early in the evening. There will be poor humidity
recovery tonight on ridges/thermal belts, but at least winds will
become light.
Hot and dry weather will remain in place through the weekend, but
winds are not expected to be as gusty.

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag
Warning FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, which is in effect
from 10 AM this morning to 8 PM MDT this evening.
* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zones 212 and 218.
* Winds...West 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* Timing...10 AM to 8 PM today.
* Relative Humidity...As low as 8 percent.
* Impacts...Conditions will be favorable for ignition and rapid
growth and spread of fires.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
