...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO NOON
MST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between one
and two feet. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph causing near
blizzard conditions over higher exposed areas.
* WHERE...Rabbit Ears Pass, and Rocky Mountain National Park and the
Medicine Bow Range.
* WHEN...Snow will develop this afternoon along with increasing
winds. The heaviest snow will be on Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread
blowing snow could produce near zero visibilities. Road closures
are possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Consider avoiding travel in the northern mountains tonight and
Wednesday. If travel is absolutely necessary, be prepared for slow
travel and possible road closures. Drive with extreme caution.
Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such
items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets
and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything
else that would help you survive in case you become stranded. The

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 7 and
14 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph with
blowing snow and poor visibilities.
* WHERE...The Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and
the Indian Peaks.
* WHEN...From Wednesday morning through Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...Snow covered roads will make very difficult. Widespread
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Road closures
are possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Consider avoiding travel in the central mountains on Wednesday. If
travel is necessary, be prepared for slow travel and possible road
closures. Be prepared for being stuck in your car by having extra
food and water, warm clothing, a shovel, and a full tank of gas. The
