...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of northeastern Park and
southwestern Jefferson Counties through 715 PM MDT...
At 638 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 3 miles north of Highland Park to 4 miles south
of Tarryall Reservoir, or along a line extending from 34 miles west
of Denver to 48 miles northwest of Colorado Springs. Movement was
east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Grant, Highland Park, Tarryall Reservoir, Buffalo Creek, Wellington
Lake, Conifer, Pine Grove, Shawnee, Aspen Park, Pine Junction, Bailey
and Harris Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT for
central and northeastern Colorado.
