Scattered showers and thunderstorms will produce strong and gusty
winds of 50 to 65 mph this afternoon and evening across north
central and northeastern Colorado. Prepare for sudden gusty winds.
Secure loose objects and move to a safe shelter inside a building
or vehicle. In addition, areas lakes will become hazardous for
boaters. Therefore, boaters are urged to return to shore before
the stronger winds develop.

At 652 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking showers and a couple
embedded thunderstorms along a line extending from 3 miles northwest
of Lafayette to 3 miles northwest of Wellington Lake, or along a
line extending from 21 miles north of Denver to 47 miles northwest
of Colorado Springs. Movement was east at 40 mph, but the
precipitation was dissipating as it moved east off the mountains.
Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with these showers and
storms.

Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Thornton, Arvada, Westminster, Centennial,
Boulder, Broomfield, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Commerce City,

...STRONG WINTER STORM EXPECTED TO MOVE IN WEDNESDAY...
.Very warm temperatures are expected today, ahead of a developing
upper level storm system moving over the Great Basin. Drastic
changes in the weather are expected to occur on Wednesday as a
strong cold front will race across northeast Colorado which will
bring much colder temperatures, strong north winds and heavy
snow. Areas of heavy snowfall across the Front Range to the far
eastern plains and strong winds will result in poor visibility and
difficult driving conditions. Temperatures plummeting will result
in icy roads. Residents of northeast Colorado should begin making
preparations for this developing storm to avoid being caught by
harsh winter conditions.
