At 424 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
southwestern Thornton, or 10 miles north of Denver, moving south at
15 mph.
A brief funnel cloud was reported with this storm, but is not
expected to touch down. Pea sized hail and winds in excess of 30
mph will be possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include...
Southwestern Thornton, southeastern Westminster, southwestern
Commerce City, Northglenn and Federal Heights.

* Until 845 PM MDT.
* At 716 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. Given the
already saturated grounds, additonal minor flooding will be
possible.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Southwestern Denver, southwestern Aurora, southern Lakewood,
Centennial, Highlands Ranch, northwestern Parker, Littleton,
Englewood, Greenwood Village, Lone Tree, Sheridan, Morrison,
Chatfield Reservoir, Arapahoe Park, Cherry Hills Village,
Foxfield, Cherry Creek Reservoir, Columbine and Ken Caryl.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
small creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage
areas and other low lying spots.

* At 442 PM MDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 0.5
and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen across southwest Arapahoe and
Northern Douglas counties.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Southern Denver, southwestern Aurora, Centennial, Highlands Ranch,
Parker, southern Littleton, Greenwood Village, Lone Tree, Castle
Pines, Louviers, Sedalia, Cherry Hills Village, Foxfield and
Cherry Creek Reservoir.

At 334 PM MDT, conditions are becoming favorable for the development
of landspout tornadoes under and close to the line of storms over
Morgan, Washington, Elbert, and Lincoln counties. However, at this
time it is unknown which if any storm would produce a landspout. Any
landspouts which develop are expected to pose a limited threat.
Locations impacted include...
Limon, Akron, Hugo, Otis, Arriba, Genoa, Gary, Thurman, Arickaree
School, Anton, Elba, Matheson, Platner, Woodlin School, Lindon,
Midway, Last Chance and Woodrow.
Landspout tornadoes can form with a developing thunderstorm before
rain, hail, and even thunder is observed. Landspout tornadoes are not
usually associated with a wall cloud and are often difficult to
detect with weather radar.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare for sudden gusty winds. Secure loose objects and move to a

If on or near a lake, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
