...Brief Landspout Tornadoes Possible...
At 321 PM MDT, conditions are becoming favorable for the development
of landspout tornadoes in and close to the area between Prospect
Valley to Roggen northward to Kersey. However, at this time it is
unknown which if any storm would produce a landspout. Any landspouts
which develop are expected to pose a limited threat.
Locations impacted include...
Prospect Valley and Roggen.
Landspout tornadoes can form with a developing thunderstorm before
rain, hail, and even thunder is observed. Landspout tornadoes are not
usually associated with a wall cloud and are often difficult to
detect with weather radar.

* At 819 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms from Roxborough Park to Louviers. This will cause
small stream flooding in the advisory area. Between one and two
inches of rain have already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Roxborough Park and Louviers.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Rainbow Creek, Plum Creek, and Indian Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of

The storms are nearly stationary over the Denver metro area. Up to
1.5 inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is expected
to begin shortly.

Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, southeastern Arvada, southern
Westminster, Centennial, northeastern Highlands Ranch, southwestern

thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding in the
advisory area. Around one half inch of rain has fallen, and
another one half to one inch can be expected before rain tapers
off.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Nederland and the Cold Spring burn scar.
This includes the following streams and drainages... The small
drainages and ditches that flow into North Boulder Creek and Middle
Boulder Creek from the Cold Spring fire.

At 1203 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Dalton to 11 miles north
of Westplains to 8 miles southwest of Grover, or along a line
extending from 17 miles north of Sidney to 17 miles southeast of
Kimball to 32 miles southeast of Cheyenne. Movement was southeast at
30 mph.
Penny size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Sterling, Holyoke, Julesburg, Haxtun, Fleming, Ovid, Iliff, Peetz,
Sedgwick, Grover, Crook, Paoli, Purcell, Padroni, Atwood, Marks
Butte, Stoneham, Highland Center, Westplains and Briggsdale.
