At 153 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Wilkerson Pass, or 45 miles west of Colorado Springs, moving north at
20 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail. Heavy rain
and minor flooding is also possible with this storm.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

* WHERE...South Platte River near Weldona.
* WHEN...Until Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, The river is out of its banks and into
fields and meadows.
At 10.0 feet, There is widespread lowland and meadow flooding.
Irrigation works are impacted.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:45 AM MDT Friday the stage was 7.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to decrease over the next
12 hours but then rise again above action stage Saturday. The
river will continue to rise through early next week.
Additional wide spread heavy rain today could bring the crest
near flood stage by Monday.
- Action stage is 8.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM NOON MDT TODAY UNTIL 10 PM THIS
EVENING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...The northern Front Range Foothills, Boulder and Denver
metro areas, Palmer Divide, and adjacent plains through Elbert and
Lincoln Counties.
* WHEN...From Noon MDT today until 10 pm this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Extensive street flooding is also possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop this
afternoon and continue into this evening. The stronger storms
will be capable of producing 1 to 2 inches of rain in an hour
or less, and there may be repeated rounds of heavy rainfall.
While the highest threat will be over the Palmer Divide and
in the Cameron Peak burn area, flash flooding will also be
possible in urban locations including the Denver metro area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
