* Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Southeastern Clear Creek County in central Colorado...
West Central Jefferson County in central Colorado...
* Until 330 PM MDT.
* At 138 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream
flooding. Between 0.8 and 1.5 inches of rain have already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Evergreen.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Elk Creek, Bear Creek, North Turkey Creek, Maxwell Creek, North
Elk Creek, Cub Creek and Blue Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the
area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
creeks and streams, roads and roadside culverts. The heavy rains
could also trigger rock slides or debris flows in steep terrain.
