COUNTIES UNTIL 245 PM MDT...
At 144 PM MDT, Doppler radar was a line of showers and strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 5 miles north of Logan
Corners to near Twin Buttes, or along a line extending from 8 miles
northwest of Sterling to 18 miles southwest of Chappell. Movement
was east at 40 mph.
Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph will be possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Sterling, Holyoke, Julesburg, Haxtun, Fleming, Ovid, Merino, Iliff,
Sedgwick, Crook, Paoli, Padroni, Atwood, Marks Butte, Highland
Center, St Petersburg, Proctor, Pleasant Valley, North Sterling
Reservoir and Willard.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare for sudden gusty winds. Secure loose objects and move to a
safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
If on or near area lakes, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
