THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Fort Collins, Greeley, and Byers.
* WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 8 PM MDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Strong winds will likely lead to rapid fire growth of any new
fire. Blowing dust will reduce visibility to less than a quarter
mile in places.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Avoid outdoor burning or any activity that may cause sparks. The
strong winds will likely fuel rapid fire growth.
