...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of north central Colorado, including the
following county, Larimer.
* WHEN...Until 800 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas in
western portions of the Cameron peak burn area.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 634 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kinikinik and Chambers Lake.
- This includes the following additional locations...
The Upper Poudre Canyon, The Laramie River Road near Chambers
Lake, Long Draw Road and Remote areas in the Cameron Peak
Wilderness.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of creeks
and streams, roads, and roadside culverts. The heavy rains could
also trigger rock slides or debris flows in the Cameron Peak burn
area.
