* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Adams County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 845 PM MDT.
* At 541 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Bennett, Manila Village and Watkins.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Comanche Creek, Kiowa Creek, Running Creek, West Sand Creek, Box
Elder Creek, Lost Creek, Wolf Creek, Little Antelope Creek,
Antelope Creek, Mule Creek, Rock Creek, Sand Creek and Horse Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other
low lying areas.
