Northeastern Park County in central Colorado...
* Until 545 PM MDT.
* At 418 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1
and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Harris Park, Highland Park and Mt Evans.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
North Fork South Platte River, Lost Creek, Lake Fork, Elk Creek,
Wisp Creek, Bear Creek, Chicago Creek, Indian Creek, Deer Creek,
Tumbling Creek, Bear Track Creek, North Elk Creek, Cub Creek and
Tanglewood Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
creeks and streams, roads and roadside culverts. The heavy rains
could also trigger rock slides or debris flows in steep terrain.
