Northern and Central Jefferson County in central Colorado...
* Until 1215 AM MDT.
* At 947 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms, moving slowly south across Jefferson County. This
will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.
Up to one inch of rain has already fallen. Thunderstorms in this
area will be capable of producing up to 2 inches of rain in an
hour.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lakewood, western Arvada, southwestern Littleton, southwestern
Wheat Ridge, Golden, Evergreen, Morrison, Idledale, Rocky Flats,
Conifer, White Ranch Open Space, Tiny Town, Chatfield Reservoir,
Kittredge, Red Rocks Park, Indian Hills and Aspen Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, highways and underpasses. Additionally, country
roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks, streams and other low
lying areas are subject to flooding.
