...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM MDT THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Colorado, including the following
counties, Morgan and Washington.
* WHEN...Until 415 AM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1024 PM MDT, Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain
fell earlier.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Beaver Creek, Plum Bush Creek, Surveyor Creek, Buck Creek,
Vega Creek, Middlemist Creek, Jack Creek, East Fork Plumb
Bush Creek, Badger Creek, Gordon Creek, Brunker Creek and
Sand Creek.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Akron, Otis, Elba, Anton, Lindon, Woodlin School, Platner,
Woodrow, Gary, Last Chance and Hyde.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
