LOGAN COUNTIES UNTIL 500 PM MDT...
At 416 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles north of Westplains to 4 miles west of
Merino, or along a line extending from 19 miles southeast of Kimball
to 15 miles southwest of Sterling. Movement was east at 25 mph.
Nickel size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Sterling, Merino, Peetz, Padroni, Westplains, Atwood, Logan Corners,
North Sterling Reservoir, Pawnee Pass and Willard.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare for sudden gusty winds. Secure loose objects and move to a
safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
