* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northeastern Jefferson County in central Colorado...
* Until 600 PM MDT.
* At 436 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Arvada, Westminster, southwestern Broomfield, northern Wheat
Ridge, Rocky Flats and White Ranch Open Space.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Clear Creek, Van Bibber Creek, South Boulder Creek, Ralston Creek,
Walnut Creek, Deer Creek, Little Dry Creek, Big Dry Creek, Coal
Creek, Rock Creek and Tucker Gulch.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small
creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas
and other low lying spots.
