...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of north central Colorado, including part of the
Cameron Peak Burn Area in Larimer County.
* WHEN...Until 430 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 226 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding and
possible debris flows.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rustic.
- This includes the following additional locations...
Jacks Gulch, Lower Pingree Park Road, Sky Ranch, Gulches
along Highway 14 near and above Rustic, Rising water and
large debris in the Poudre River, Pingree Hill, Crown Point
Road and Remote areas in the Cameron Peak Wilderness.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Heavy Rainfall will cause minor flooding of creeks and streams,
roads and roadside culverts in the affected part of the Cameron Peak
burn area. The heavy rains could also trigger rock slides or debris
flows.
