...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of north central Colorado, including the
following county, Larimer. This includes the north central
portion of the Cameron Peak burn scar.
* WHEN...Until 445 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 143 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Up to
0.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Lone Pine Creek, Cache La Poudre River, Elkhorn Creek, South
Lone Pine Creek, Manhattan Creek, South Fork Cache La Poudre
River, Killpecker Creek, Dry Creek, Little Beaver Creek and
Bennett Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rustic and Red Feather Lakes.
- This includes the following additional locations...
Lower Pingree Park Road, Gulches along Highway 14 near and
above Rustic, Rising water and large debris in the Poudre
River, Pingree Hill, Goodell Corner, Bellaire Lake and Crown
Point Road.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Heavy Rainfall will cause minor flooding of creeks and streams,
roads and roadside culverts in the affected part of the Cameron Peak
burn area. The heavy rains could also trigger rock slides or debris
flows.
