Southwestern Jefferson County in central Colorado...
Southwestern Douglas County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 200 AM MDT.
* At 1238 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1
and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
* Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cheesman Reservoir, Deckers and Wellington Lake.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Horse Creek, Buffalo Creek, Cabin Creek, Shinglemill Creek, Camp
Creek, South Fork Buffalo Creek, South Platte River, Gunbarrel
Creek, Turkey Creek, Freeman Creek, Wigwam Creek, Little Turkey
Creek, Goose Creek, Fourmile Creek, Sugar Creek, Tramway Creek,
Kelsey Creek and Wildcat Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
creeks and streams, roads and roadside culverts. The heavy rains
could also trigger rock slides or debris flows in steep terrain.
