NWS Boulder - Feedback opportunity - partner workshops
by Greg Hanson - NWS Federal
Hello NWS Boulder partner,
The National Weather Service's Hazard Simplification program is moving
forward. On March 4, 2021, NWS announced a decision to make major changes
to the Watch, Warning and Advisory (WWA) system. The announcement is at
this link:
https://www.weather.gov/media/notification/pdf2/pns21-12_haz_simp_headlin...
At the core of the decision is the removal of all WWA-based Advisory
headlines and Special Weather Statements in favor of plain language
headlines that clearly articulate the nature of the hazard.
As a follow on to this announcement, all NWS partners are invited to attend
one of the upcoming webinars to provide feedback on a proposed set of
options as to exactly how this plain language should be designed and
structured. The feedback webinars as scheduled for May 5, 6, 12, and 19,
you only need to attend one. More information and webinar signup
information is available here:

We hope to have a strong representation from our NWS Denver/Boulder
partners.
thanks
Greg
