* WHAT...Temperatures up to 103 expected.
* WHERE...Sedgwick County and Phillips County.
* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 8 PM MDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

south central Sedgwick Counties through 715 PM MDT...
At 644 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Paoli, or 9 miles northwest of Holyoke, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Holyoke, Haxtun, Paoli and Fairfield.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare for sudden gusty winds. Secure loose objects and move to a

MDT...
At 1204 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Twin Buttes to 5 miles northwest of Haxtun, or
along a line extending from 18 miles southeast of Sidney to 22 miles
west of Holyoke. Movement was northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Haxtun, Fleming, Ovid, Sedgwick, Crook, Twin Buttes, Fairfield, Marks

miles east of Atwood, or along a line extending from 12 miles
southwest of Sidney to 31 miles southwest of Chappell to 4 miles
south of Sterling. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.
