For those interested in learning about the mostly unrealized heavy rain threats this past
week, we suggest reading the short discussions found from the Message Day Summaries link
at
https://alert5.udfcd.org/flood-prediction-notification/. If anyone experienced any
flood problems during this period we would appreciate hearing from you.
With monsoon thunderstorms expected to return tomorrow, we hope you will notice the
supplemental QPF link in the morning HPO. It should look something like this:
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical rain showers and weak thunderstorms will
produce 0.1-0.5" in 10-30 minutes. Moderate to strong thunderstorms will have the
potential to produce 0.5-1.5" in 10-30 minutes. Supplemental QPF is available at
https://qpf.udfcd.org
We have tentatively scheduled a webinar for Wednesday, August 5 at 11AM to help our
partners better understand how to use this tool that we are calling QPF-Max. Dana McGlone
from Dewberry will be our presenter and more information will be sent out soon. If you are
interested in this training, please mark your calendars now and watch for your invite.
Stay safe and flood ready.
