* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of north central Colorado, including the
following county, Grand. This includes the eastern portion of the
East Troublesome burn area.
* WHEN...Until 145 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1222 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Up to
0.3 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
East Inlet, Willow Creek, Onahu Creek, Trail Creek, Colorado
River, Tonahutu Creek, Ranger Creek, Gold Run, North Inlet,
Soda Creek and Echo Creek.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Grand Lake.
- This includes the following additional locations...
Rocky Mountain National Park west entrance, Green Mountain in
Rocky Mountain National Park, North Inlet in Grand Lake,
Columbine Lake, rising water in the Colorado River along
River Rd, Lower Stillwater Creek and Stillwater Pass.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Heavy Rainfall will cause minor flooding of small creeks, streams,
and ditches in the East Troublesome burn area. The heavy rains could
also trigger rock slides or debris flows.

was located 5 miles southeast of Elba, or 18 miles south of Akron,
moving southeast at 15 mph.

shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.

heavy rain across the east central portion of the Cameron Peak
burn scar. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected
rainfall rate is 0.30 to 1 inch in less than one hour. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas;
including Sheep Creek, North Fork Fish Creek and
Buckhorn Creek.

...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of eastern Elbert,
eastern Arapahoe, eastern Morgan, western Washington, eastern Adams
and northern Lincoln Counties through 615 PM MDT...
At 543 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 3 miles west of Midway to 4 miles north of
Kutch, or along a line extending from 13 miles west of Akron to 22
miles southwest of Limon. Movement was east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Limon, Akron, Brush, Hugo, Hillrose, Genoa, Gary, Anton, Elba,
Matheson, Woodlin School, Kutch, Cottonwood Valley, Lindon, Snyder,
Midway, Last Chance, Woodrow and Punkin Center.
