...MOUNTAIN SNOW EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT ...
.A cold storm system will move across the Central Rockies this
weekend. The snow level will fall to between 9,000 and 10,000
feet tonight. The heaviest snow is expected above 10,000 feet MSL
where 4 to 10 inches of snow is expected. A light snow
accumulation will be possible down to 9,000 feet. Cold and snowy
conditions are expected for the mountains through the weekend.
Plan accordingly if you are going to be spending time in the
mountains.

6 AM MDT SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 10 inches
above 10,000 feet MSL. Light snow accumulations will be
possible down to 9,000 feet MSL
* WHERE...Rocky Mountain National Park, the Medicine Bow Range and
the Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and the
Indian Peaks.
* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 AM MDT Sunday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High mountain roads may become slippery. If
venturing into the mountains this weekend be prepared for cold
temperatures and periods of rain and snow.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

100 PM MDT...
At 1214 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles west of Elevenmile Canyon Reservoir, or 40 miles north of
Hayden Pass Burn Scar, moving northeast at 25 mph.
Nickel size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm. Hail may accumulate on roadways causing hazardous travel.
Locations impacted include...
Lake George and Elevenmile Canyon Reservoir.
