[Fraug] Dissemination Testing Today
by Kevin Stewart
With our daily F2P2 forecast services starting tomorrow, we will be conducting some system testing today. Consequently, subscribers will receive emails, text messages and faxes forwarded by our upgraded Mailman listserver. The domain for this service is @udfcd-lists.org. Please do not reply to the test emails unless instructed to do so. To help assure delivery, you could ask your IT departments to Whitelist this domain.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this test period. Any questions or concerns should be directed to kstewart(a)udfcd.org<mailto:kstewart@udfcd.org>.
We look forward to serving you once again as we begin our 41st year of providing early flood predictions and notification to our local partners. Enjoy the rains today and watch the amounts accumulate via https://alert5.udfcd.org and https://udfcd.onerain.com/

[Fraug] The 2019 Flood Season has arrived
by Kevin Stewart
http://alert5.udfcd.org/news-release/
Just a quick note to let you all know what the District sent to local news desks yesterday.
The flash flood prediction and notification services provided by the meteorologists at Skyview Weather include the following major elements:
1. Operations run from 15 April thru 30 September. When conditions warrant, Skyview will issue "MESSAGES" concerning imminent low impact flooding, flash flood watches and flash flood warnings to primary emergency contact points. Notifications concerning possible street flooding, i.e. MESSAGE 1-STREET FLOODING POTENTIAL will only be disseminated electronically. A description of the standard messages can be found at http://f2p2.udfcd.org/messagedefs.pdf.
2. Normal operating hours for Skyview will be from 7AM to 10PM including weekends.
3. The National Weather Service will cover those hours not covered by Skyview, although Skyview will stay in operation after 10PM if weather conditions warrant.
4. Daily forecasts begin on May 1 and end on September 30. Dissemination is via email/text/fax subscriptions<http://alert5.udfcd.org/subscriptions/> and all products are accessible from the F2P2 website<http://alert5.udfcd.org/flood-prediction-notification/>. Product descriptions are available at http://alert5.udfcd.org/f2p2-products/.
5. Between April 15 and April 30, Skyview will issue MESSAGES when necessary through normal channels. Daily products are not available during this period.
You can sign up for the F2P2 messages from our 'alert5' website. The subscription page is http://alert5.udfcd.org/subscriptions/
Our Twitter notifications have also been activated for 2019. See https://twitter.com/udfcdfws to view current tweets and Twitter users can follow @udfcdfws to receive heavy rainfall alerts issued automatically by the ALERT System. Feel free to share this information with your work colleagues, family members and friends.
We look forward to serving you all once again this flood season. If you have any questions concerning this program or how to use the ALERT System, please let us know.
Happy storm chasing,
Kevin
p.s. We have migrated to a new email listserver that uses a different domain address of @udfcd-lists.org. Hopefully this will get to your inbox. We recommend that you have your IT folks whitelist this domain.
