WARMER TODAY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR SCATTERED AFTERNOON RAIN
SHOWERS/ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS
-
Northwest flow aloft dominates the region today leading to mild and
dry conditions this morning. Today's high temperatures will reach the
mid 60's to around 70 degrees on the plains with low to mid 60's along
the foothills.
-
Most areas will remain dry today however, a very slight chance this
afternoon and early evening for scattered rain showers and possibly a
few lightning strikes, mainly along the foothills and the Palmer
Divide. A few showers cannot be completely ruled out along the I-25
corridor. Best chance will be from 2-6pm with skies clearing through
the rest of the evening.
-
Overnight will be mild and dry as temperatures drop into the mid to
upper 40's on the plains with upper 30's to low 40's along the
foothills. High-pressure returns Sunday resulting in warmer, mild and
dry conditions into next week.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical rain showers will
produce a trace-0.1" in 10-30 minutes.
WORST CASE SCENARIO: A moderate showers could produce 0.1-0.3" in
10-30 minutes.
A LOOK AHEAD: This will conclude the additional coverage from Skyview
Weather, Thank you! Any questions or comments should be directed to
Kevin Stewart at 303-455-6277 or kstewart(a)mhfd.org.

ANOTHER COOLER THAN AVERAGE DAY WITH OFF AND ON RAIN SHOWERS/ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE
-
Cooler temperatures remain over the region today as highs only reach
the mid 60's to around 70 degrees this afternoon on the plains with
low 60's along the foothills. Rain chances today have trended downward
as a disturbance moves just south of Colorado effectively missing the
District at this time.
-
A few rain showers along the Palmer Divide this morning will
continue off and on throughout the day and into the early evening.
Shower activity will most likely remain along the Palmer Divide and
into the foothills this morning with a few scattered rain showers or
an isolated thunderstorm moving into the District around midday and
into the afternoon and early evening. Best chance for shower activity
will remain south of I-70.
-
By sunset, shower activity will diminish after sunset with mild
conditions expected through the overnight and into Saturday.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical rain showers will
produce a trace-0.10" in 10-30 minutes. A moderate rain shower or
isolated thunderstorm could produce 0.1-0.2" in 10-30 minutes.
WORST CASE SCENARIO: A stronger rain shower/isolated thunderstorms has
the potential to produce 0.2-0.6" in 60 minutes.
A LOOK AHEAD: Northwest flow aloft Saturday as the disturbance moves
out will keep a slight chance for a few scattered rain
showers/isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon. Temperatures will
start to increase tomorrow as well in the low to mid 70's under mostly
sunny skies.
