Message 1’s will be allowed to expire at 11pm as the threat of
heavy rainfall has come to an end.
A few lingering showers persist over the District at this time. These
showers will continue over the next couple of hours before clearing
out through the overnight. Temperatures will drop into the low 60s by
daybreak tomorrow for the plains with mid to upper 50s along the
foothills.
With minimal changes to the upper level flow, moisture, and cooler
temperatures overall, storms will likely initiate tomorrow afternoon
with a few isolated storms into the evening hours. Storms should be
less intense than today due to lower daytime temperatures; however, at
least a LOW chance for Messages tomorrow with excess available
moisture at the surface.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical showers will produce a
trace-0.10” total in 10-30 minutes. A moderate shower will produce
0.10-0.20” total in 10-30 minutes.
WORST CASE SCENARIO: A thunderstorm will have the potential to produce
0.20-0.40” total in 10-30 minutes.
