Time: 434 PM Tue April 25, 2023 Forecaster: Justin Brooks ------------------------- Heavy Precipitation Outlook Flash Flood Prediction Program ------------------------- PRE-SEASON NOTIFICATION - MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN DECREASING AT THIS TIME A round of showers and thunderstorms have impacted the District bringing some isolated heavy rainfall. Some moderate showers are continuing to impact portions of the District, especially around the Aurora area where over 1" of rain fell. Currently storms are starting to settle down at this time, with more widespread light to isolated moderate rainfall continuing into the evening. The heaviest rain showers have moved eastward and out of the District at this time. Off and on shower activity will be likely through the rest of the evening, turning over to a mix/snow through the overnight and into daybreak Wednesday. Tomorrow will quickly bounce back with high temperatures expected to reach the mid to upper 50's in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Typical rain showers/isolated thunderstorm will produce TR-0.25” in 10-30 minutes, a moderate to briefly heavy rain showers will produce 0.25-0.75” in 10-30 minutes. WORST CASE SCENARIO: A slower moving strong thunderstorm has the potential to produce 0.50-1.25” in 30-45 minutes. A LOOK AHEAD: Mild and dry tomorrow afternoon.
