HOT AND DRY SUMMERTIME CONDITIONS
The drying and warming pattern continues today as a heat dome
expands across the Great Plains and Midwest. Today will be hot and
breezy with afternoon temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 90s
under sunny skies.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: No rainfall is expected in the
District today
WORST CASE SCENARIO: An isolated shower forms over the foothills and
produces a trace to 0.25" total in 45-60 minutes.
A LOOK AHEAD: The intense heat continues tomorrow with afternoon
temperatures in the mid 90s under sunny skies. On Wednesday, the heat
dome begins to meander east, allowing temperatures to cool over the
coming days. Wednesday’s highs will reach the low to mid 90s with a
slight chance for isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
