A gust front is currently moving from N to S through the District
which originated from thunderstorms over Larimer and Weld Counties. As
this feature passes southward it will act as a trigger for additional
thunderstorm development with thunderstorms currently in the
Boulder/Broomfield and W Adams County area. New thunderstorms will
likely develop southward as the afternoon progresses.

Typical thunderstorms will produce moderate to brief heavy rainfall
with stronger storms cells capable of producing brief heavy rainfall
that may lead to excessive runoff.
STORM RAINFALL POTENTIAL AND DURATION: Weak thunderstorms will produce
0.1-0.4" in 10-30 minutes. Moderate to strong thunderstorms will have
the potential to produce rainfall rates of 0.4-1.2" in 10-30 minutes.
WORST CASE SCENARIO: Storms anchored to the foothills or surface
boundary could produce up to 2.0" of heavy rain in 45-60 minutes.
