On this day 83 years ago, remnants of a tropical storm brought 9-inch rains to
Colorado's Front Range causing deaths and record flooding between
Morrison<https://www.udfcd.org/FWP/PDF/CanyonCourier_2004aug04.pdf> and Eldorado
Springs<https://www.udfcd.org/FWP/floodhistory/sbc_floodphotos.html>. The date was
September 2, 1938. The devastating floods in New
York<https://twitter.com/search?q=%23IdaAftermath%20nyc&src=recent...
and throughout the New England states today serve as a reminder of what's possible
where we live.
The attachment illustrates how our ArcGIS Real-time storm & flood data
map<https://mhfd.org/webmaps/Real-time/> can be used in the short-term following a
major event. You may want to explore it's features while Ida rainfall is still active.
