WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SOUTH PARK, SOUTHERN
FOOTHILLS, PALMER DIVIDE, EASTERN PLAINS, AND DENVER METRO...
The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 11 AM to 7 PM MDT Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no
longer in effect.
* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zones 214, 216, 238, 239, 240,
241, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250 and 251.
* Timing...11 AM MDT Tuesday until 7 PM MDT Tuesday evening
* Winds...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* Relative Humidity...As low as 9 percent.
* Impacts...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
Avoid outdoor burning and any activities that may produce
sparks.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
