...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 AM MDT SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
occurring.
* WHERE...A portion of east central Colorado, including the
following counties, Elbert and Lincoln.
* WHEN...Until 930 AM MDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Water over roadways and several roads are closed. Some
low-water crossings may be impassable. River or stream flows are
elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 939 PM MDT, Emergency management reported flooded and
damaged roadways in the advisory area due to thunderstorms.
Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are
expected over the area. This additional rain will result in
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Limon, Hugo, Arriba, Genoa, Punkin Center, Boyero, Kutch,
Matheson and Cedar Point.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
